Burnout among healthcare professionals is a complex issue influenced by various interrelated factors, including excessive workload, emotional demands, organizational culture, systemic challenges, and work-life balance. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these issues, making it essential to address them urgently. This review examines the multifaceted phenomenon of burnout among healthcare professionals, highlighting its various causes, profound impacts, and effective strategies for alleviation. The impacts of burnout are significant, affecting not only the well-being of healthcare workers but also the quality of patient care, organizational effectiveness, and the overall healthcare system. The emotional, psychological, and financial consequences highlight the pressing need for effective interventions. To tackle burnout, a multifaceted approach is necessary, incorporating individual coping strategies, organizational support, systemic reforms, and ongoing assessment.
